Abstract

The current research aims to "develop the perceptions of Northern Technical University instructors regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence technology in laboratory teaching." To achieve the research objective, the researcher used the descriptive analytical survey approach by describing and analyzing some of the academic courses. The research community included (1,114) instructors in (16) colleges and institutes of the technical colleges and institutes affiliated with Iraqi universities. Thus, the total basic sample in the technical colleges in Nineveh Governorate consisted of (670) instructors. The researcher took (57) individuals as a survey sample from the original research community to apply the questionnaire to instructors in the same departments and colleges after describing the questionnaire on the five-point Likert scale. Then, the research tool (the questionnaire) was employed, consisting of (3) axes and (40) paragraphs, after extracting their validity, reliability, and the relationship between the fields and the paragraph, and the degree of the field and paragraphs. The researcher used statistical processors and methods via the SPSS program to complete the research procedures and display the results, including The chi-square, Pearson's correlation coefficient, standard deviation, item discrimination power, Cronbach's alpha method or equation, weighted mean, and percentage weight were used. Finally, the study showed the following results, including that the proposed concept, which was achieved according to the fields and paragraphs of the questionnaire (tool (25)), was achieved, while the other proposed concept, which was not achieved according to the fields and paragraphs of the questionnaire (tool (15)), was not achieved. The researcher concluded that employing artificial intelligence applications in teaching departmental courses at the Technical College requires rehabilitating the infrastructure of classrooms and equipping them with educational technology equipment and continuous internet access, in addition to employing the qualification of professors in workshops, seminars, and study sessions to encourage those responsible for curricula and courses to employ basic topics and general principles of artificial intelligence applications in the departments designated for study
