Abstract

Time-sensitive networking (TSN) is a new technology that enables the
integration of time-critical applications, such as industrial automation and
vehicle communication, by ensuring low and predictable end-to-end
latency. This research aims to analyze the performance of a TSN network
that is based on hybrid standards (IEEE802.1Qbu and IEEE802.1Qbv)
for an in-vehicle network. A simulation framework called NeSTiNg,
which was specifically designed using OMNET++ was used. It is
necessary to send all time-critical control signals within a time frame of
0.03688ms, which is considered an acceptable duration. On the other
hand, the camera data will be transmitted within a time frame of
7.0873ms. The results of this research show that the utilization of the
switch based on the TSN standards provides a deterministic time and low
latency for essential time messages, fulfilling the crucial needs for realtime applications.
